140 years of history

It was with Jean Cavé, in 1883, that this fabulous story began. Jean Cavé is a winegrower in Lannepax when he moved "breeder" surrounded by his wife and two sons. Four generations will follow one another in this beautiful house which excels in distillation, breeding and aging of Armagnac brandies. 140 years later, the house team Jean Cavé Works with the advice of Henri Cavé, the fourth generation of the family. It is in the tradition of family history that Cavé continues its development in the spirit of the places and the same passion for the Armagnacais terroir.

A very important range

Listening to the history of the Jean Cavé house, we imagine how impressive the range of its products is. The vintages (from the end of the 20th century to the 2000s) rub shoulders with assemblies that highlighted young brandy like Armagnacs of a great diversity of origin. Our favorite: vintage 1973

In this huge range of very good quality brandies, our attention was paid to the Jean Cavé 1973. Brilliant and clear dress for this Armagnac distilled in 1973. On the nose, its aromas are wooded with vanilla notes, cocoa and sweet spices to end on a high complexity. On the palate, the attack is frank with a lot of roundness. The tannins are rich and very present, without aggressiveness. Great complexity in the final with grilled and intense wooden notes.
