In the wake of their father Jean-Jacques, the Lesgourgues children continue the adventure with clear rules to respect the environment, to meet the requirements of product traceability and authenticity, while respecting the terroir. Excellence remains their guide. Here, around the four main grape varieties of Armagnac (Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Folle Blanche, Baco), we take care of the vines, taking the greatest care in vinification, distillation and of course aging (with barrels including the oak woods dry on the property) brandies from this 105 hectare vineyard entirely dedicated to Armagnac.

150 years of family history

The castle of Laubade tells one of the most beautiful stories of Gascony. The building, built in Sorbets (near Nogaro in the Gers), was owned by Joseph Noulens, one of Georges Clémenceau's most important ministers. His second wife, the first great French stylist Jeanne Paquin, is no stranger to the interior decoration of this atypical castle. In the 1970s, the Lesgourgues family bought Laubade and Jean-Jacques developed a magnificent Lower Armagnac vineyard over more than a hundred hectares. His son Arnaud, then today Denis, in turn developed Laubade, now established among the finest Armagnac brands in France and in the world.

An exceptional range

Discreetly but with talent, the Laubade cellar master watches over the estate's eaux-de-vie and their development with the Lesgourgues family. Numerous blends, but also vintages, cask strengths or even the new collection “The curiosities of Laubade” allow a sensory and particularly tasty stroll into the world of Armagnac. The Maison de l'Armagnac is particularly delighted to offer you a beautiful collection of barrel strengths and curiosities which reflect Laubade's desire to innovate, to explore new paths to meet the expectations of its customers.

Our selection: cask strength 2000

This vintage, made from grapes from the property, was distilled varietal by varietal (baco 50%, ugni blanc 50%). This Armagnac is deliberately left at its natural strength (52.4%). This eau-de-vie has a mahogany color and a beautiful shine. Its delicate nose delivers notes of citrus (grapefruit), prune and vanilla. The palate offers a frank, ample and balanced attack. Orange zest, candied fruit and plum dominate and blend harmoniously towards a long finish.
