Four years of research and testing were necessary to perfect the recipe for Elixir 32. The Bas-Armagnac, aged between 2 and 4 years in Gascon oak barrels in the Nogaro cellars, of course has the star. Moreover, no other spirits are included in the blend. Agen prunes provide their natural sugar and a beautiful amber color, complemented by home-brewed Ceylon black tea and a naturally kept secret spice blend. But not only that… Elixir 32 also contains a few percent of a very old liqueur based on Armagnac and prunes produced in the 1970s by Pierre Dartigalongue. The project had not been followed and a few hundred liters had been left in a small barrel. This old liqueur with extra-long aging (more than 40 years!) has brought to Elixir 32 oxidative notes of dried fruits and nuts, which are almost reminiscent of old Pedro Ximenez: an additional touch of complexity and character!
